On Friday I left work around 5. I swear this agency and I are becoming best of friends as we're allowed to leave work at 3 on Fridays. It's a dream, even though I don't dare to actually leave at that time because no one else does. BUT, I can leave at 5 without anyone giving me weird looks and I love it. So anyways, Friday. I probably had a fever, my throat was aching and my nose was runny. I should've stayed at home, but I thought my room is so cold anyways so might as well go out? So that I did. I met up with Sanna at 10 degrees in East Village for beers. It's fun with new friends, because it feels a bit like dating when you ask questions on how they grew up and what they think about this and that. Anyways, I'm already in love with this girl and we talked loud and superficially about what guys we like and how to attract them. After three Pacifico's I already felt better and we took the L over to Brooklyn and the Lormier stop and walked up to Battery Harris. There some guys had a goodbye party to which I'd been invited to by some people at work and turns out one of the guys' room is the one Sanna is taking over. The world is so small, especially if you're Swedish working in advertising in New York. Momo and Lisa came too and they got me drunk on tequila insisting it would kill all the germs in my body. At least I felt better right there and then and we danced and smoked and said hi to people we've barely met but think are kind of hot. I ended up outside my door at 3.30 AM without a key, unable to reach any of my roommates. So I had to get into a cab and go home to Lisa. I fell asleep right away after she gave me some medicine her mom prayed by.
On Saturday morning I woke up by a text from my roommate asking if I was alive. The sun was shining and it was cold, which happens to be one of my top 3 weather conditions. Louis facetimed me from his bed suggesting we go for breakfast and how can you say no to that? I met up with him and we walked over to some Mexican place where he ate a breakfast nacho plate and I had a bloody mary because it was cheaper... We tried to find a girl's number Lou had saved on his phone the night before, but didn't remember the name of. Unfortunately we couldn't. But since he's a stud he had gotten another one too, so he can still go on a date this week. We also facetimed Jakob in Hamburg and I tried to catch a moment in a screenshot. Went great as you ca see. Louis' friend Anton joined us after a while and the three of us went out to the Hudson, laid down on the football field and talked about ISIS and Paris and religion.
After a while I headed home to eat and meet up with Emma. I showed her my apartment and then we went for coffee and prosecco. There's something special about sitting next to one of your best friends when you haven't seen each other for so long. We updated each other on the important stuff and then talked about career choices and drugs and how fucked up it is that you feel safer in the US than in Sweden or Belgium (where Emma lives and studies right now) right now. When it got dark we jumped on the subway where we had to hug each other to fit. All of a sudden I had to get off and we said goodbye on a crowded uptown train, not really knowing when we'll hug again. But that's okay. At least I got her her for a few days.
I met up with Sanna again and we had pizza at Joe's Pizza on 14th Street (supposed to be one of the best in NYC and fuck me!!! It was beyond delish) before going to the movies and watch the last Hunger Games. Didn't love that one as much as I did the pizza, but it was still nice and Katniss is the dopest.
Today I've done nothing fun at all. Worked for a bit in a café, did laundry, walked around for two hours getting lost, but not really, in Chelsea getting a tad of the Sunday blues as I listened to sad music sipping on coffee and the wind was cold. Then I went to Trader Joe's and got groceries and now I'm sitting here in my cold room with a runny nose about to finish up my work and watch a movie.
Longest recap ever, but I hope you can deal. Peace n love to you all <3
