I'm sorry for my lack of posts lately, but I'm just too busy working/making out/drinking beers on rooftops. And I have no intention on pressing pause even though I freak out a little bit from the fact that half the quarter has already passed.
The weeks kind of blur together, but last one was a particularly good one since it was finally warm enough to bring out the skirts and pack down the jeans. At least during the days. I wore my new denim skirt from Zara and my Adidas sneakers that my friends are giving me shit about for wearing every single day. At one point we were standing outside the office and what seems to be Beyoncé and Jay-Z's crew are all coming out of the building (they live in the penthouse of the building across the street). Carl and I walk up to the driver and ask him if he could tell them Carl and Frida says hi. He responds with they won't give a fuck. But then complemented my skirt. So we're all good.
On another day, I think it was Tuesday, Carl and I took a two hour lunch break. We had nothing to do and it was beautiful out, so we thought why shouldn't we take a two hour lunch break? We went to Spice and had Thai before walking through Soho up to West Village to sort out some printing for work. When we came back we finished off some work before I headed to Midtown to meet up with Elton to go to Luke's Lobster for dinner. 15 dollars for a lobster roll that tasted like heavennn. We headed back to Brooklyn in the humid evening and when we walked home from the train it wasn't even chilly without stockings or sweater.
On Wednesday I had class after work and then we went and had some mediocre burgers in the Village. On Thursday I came home after work, exhausted and frustrated and just in the mood for Netflix and sushi. But then Elton texts me to meet up for a drink and there is probably nothing else that could make me feel better on that particular night. So I head out in my sweats and we meet up at Mission Cantina for delicious Mexican food. Octopus, bone marrow fajitas and sea urchin on fried eggs. We complain about work, as you tend to do, and sip on our Micheladas. They play Boys 2 Men and our table neighbors sing along. The food is beautiful and when we leave I feel as if I won't need another meal for the rest of the week.
And then it's Friday! I met up with Paula after work at Panna 2 in East Village. As you see on the picture it's a freaking Christmas Party in there all year around. At some point they turn down the lights, turn up some crazy Indian techno and put on strobe lights for like 30 seconds and then everything returns to normal. So fucking weird and confusing, yet awesome. We order masalas and naan and everything yum and catch up.
Obviously Ryan Goslings favorite place.
Later we meet up with friends on B Bar a few of streets over and have a couple of beers. We all huddle around a table outside and talk about work and advertising and Sweden since we end up being 7 Swedes in this multi international group of people. It gets a little chilly and so after a few hours we head to the subway when the rest of the group order Uber's to go to some club.
And Saturday was spent on Brooklyn Bridge, at a dumpling place in Chinatown eating amazing dumplings for peanuts, at home napping and grabbing a change of clothes and last but not least on this rooftop drinking PBR's and listening to R. Kelly.
On Sunday I wake up next to the one who pulls me close and kiss my cheeks my nose my lips. We walk to Campbell's Cheese for their breakfast biscuit and iced coffee and have it on the bench outside in PJ shorts and flip flops. Hipster BK-beards are walking past us, on their way to brunch or to pick up coffee or go to a stoop flea market or whatever. I don't really think about anything else than the sandwich I'm eating because it's to die for. For the rest of the day we don't move much. Laying in bed doing work, dozing off, walking to the store to get some food, smoking a cigarette on the roof, letting the AC cool us down. Just as you should on a hot humid Sunday.
And now, let's do it all over again.
