Sandra Diola

My biggest Instagram crush right now is Sandra Diola. Her clean, yet colorful aesthetics speak to me in the sincerest ways. I love her often unmade makeup look paired with great pieces of clothing that speaks for themselves. She’s worth a follow. And a quick read further down.

What are three things you want people to know about you?
I recently moved to NYC to follow my dreams like everyone else, I need the sun and I'm easily moved by the littlest things.

If you could buy anything in the whole world right now, what would it be?
A ticket home to visit my family in Florida. I was in London for work for two months so I've been so homesick. Also, a point and shoot film camera.

You have a free Saturday, sun is shining. What do you do?
Open all the windows, take it slow.

How would you describe your style?
Easy and loose, with bits of nostalgia.

What do you find inspiring on social media?
How it can enable activism in people and the youth especially. People's vulnerability and their quiet moments.

Dakota Butler

I dare you to find a better mashup of classy and sexy than Dakota Butler. The New Yorker rules a simple, yet exciting style that has me totally captivated. So happy she agreed to answer some questions for this!

What are three things you want people to know about you?
Nothing! Just kidding. I can’t think of anything but random facts so let’s say my number one passion is food, I always take photos of cute dogs I see and send them to my boyfriend, and my biggest food craving is mint ice cream.

If you could buy anything in the world right now, what would it be?
Probably a plane ticket to Italy. I’ve always wanted to go and if I could just buy a plane ticket I’d stay forever.

Who do you find inspiring on social media?
I only have Instagram so people that use Instagram to make something beautiful are inspiring to me. It’s so trendy right now for things to be ugly, like fashion is ugly right now but I respect anyone that still thinks fashion and clothes should be beautiful, so they create something beautiful/curate a beautiful Instagram. It doesn’t have to be just an Instagram geared toward fashion though I enjoy the IG’s that are just filled with wonderfully shot photos.

What’s your favorite place in NYC and why?
Aside from the obvious (my bed), Lucien, this French restaurant in the east village. For me atmosphere is almost more important than food when it comes to dining out. Lucien is a hot spot for New York’s “coolest” but it never feels like it. Everyone is there to have a good time, the atmosphere is bustling, the drinks are strong and the food is delicious. Also bonus points for the best espresso martini in town.

Who is someone you look up to?
My parents. They’re very hard working people. I think they were wonderful parents and hope I will be able to do what they did for me for my kids (if I have any).

Zoe Ruffner

Writer at and owner of two cats who look like elegant old ladies from the Upper East Side. That is Zoe Ruffner. With an instagram feed filled with colors and tiny purses and, well yeah, cats, she's one of my the New Yorkers I follow to still my urge to move back. Check her out!

What are three things you want people to know about you?
I’m a born and bred New Yorker (but happiest at the beach), a writer at Vogue, and a Leo.

If you could buy anything in the world right now, what would it be?
Anything from Phoebe Philo’s last collection for Céline. And plane tickets! Lamu, Rome, Vienna, Oaxaca, Lisbon, Thailand... I could go on and on.

What is success to you?
Being proud of what you’ve accomplished.

What do you prefer to read?
Joan Didion and Jeffrey Eugenides are my favorite authors, and I just bought a book of Mary Oliver’s poems, which I love, love, love. And I always have a New Yorker with me for the moments I find myself with nothing to do.

How would you spend a perfect Saturday evening?
Dinner with friends at my apartment in Brooklyn Heights: Pasta, wine, and my two crazy cats…

Olivia McIntyre

I feel like Norwegians are having a bit of a hype right now? Is it because of Skam or...? Not that I care why, it's just funny to me how I used to look to a lot of Danes for style inspiration and now I tend to look more towards Norway and its bunch of stylish women. The more scaled down aesthetic is something I relate to and Olivia McIntyre is no exception.

What are three things you want people to know about you?
My instagram is not an accurate representation of me as a person nor of my life. I’ve kept a journal for around 7 years now and I would recommend it to everyone, it’s a truly amazing way of preserving your past selves and organizing your thoughts. I strongly believe in the power of empathy and constantly learning and relearning.

If you could buy anything in the entire world right now, what would it be?
Probably an apartment here in Oslo and some around the world, and a few more for those I care about.

What do you find inspiring online?
Strong voices that use their platforms to advocate for social issues, and also seeing people finding their people who they might never have met and from there seeing communities and movements arise.

What does an ideal day look like to you?
I don’t think I have an ideal day because it depends on what mood i’m in and my mood fluctuates a lot. From experience I’ve learnt that when I don’t have expectations for the day those days usually turn out pretty good. But good food, nature and friends usually does the trick.

Who should we all follow on Instagram?
Okay, off the top of my head: For enlightenment and inspiration @roscoeramone and @shishi.rose, @princessnokia @dounia @naomishimada (beacons of light). For visual pleasure and calmness @kajadons @noralandsroed @leastuedahl @helenlevi @yasminemei @fjura_ @kelseylu69

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Content, resourceful, fun, loving and loved! A career comes second, but hopefully I’ll find work that helps me on the way to those adjectives.

Michelle Salem

Michelle Salem is like a character from a movie. Or at least that’s what I feel when I scroll through her Instagram. Her style is the perfect mix of proper co-ords and sexy little tops and dresses, like Cher in Clueless if you were to turn up the heat. But as Brand Manager of Opening Ceremony (one of my favorite stores to visit in NYC) there’s no surprise the girl got style. Scroll, enjoy and save to inspo-folder.

What are three things you want people to know about you?
I'm a Scorpio, a thrift enthusiast, and I love to cook.

If you could buy anything in the world right now, what would it be?
A really great apartment in NYC. I'm happy with my current living situation, but renting is nice - owning is better!

What do you do and what is the best part of your job?
I'm the Brand Manager at Opening Ceremony. It's hard to pick just one thing, but I'd say one of the amazing parts of my job is that it changes from day to day. Today I might be casting an editorial, tomorrow I might be producing an event. It's never boring.

Which song do you want to be the last one you’ll ever hear?
Michinant by Bon Iver because it's peaceful, and I think I'd enjoy hearing it just as much when I'm 99 years old as I do today.

You have one night in New York, what do you do? Where do you go?
I feel so lucky to live in New York, and my favorite nights always involve dinner and drinks with friends. At the moment, my ideal scenario would be dinner at Domodomo, followed by a cocktail at Donna. At the end of the night, I'd curl up in another one of my favorite spots, my bed.

Lolita Cros

I found art curator Lolita Cros on Instagram a while back when, I think, she was tagged in one of Glossier’s Emily Weiss’ posts. From one scroll I got a feeling we could be really good friends. May sound creepy but I love when that happens and I honestly think it's really cool when someone expresses an energy that you can relate or tap into. Working with The Wing and Glossier (and others but I’m no artsy person so I don’t know what or who they are) you can fairly say she’s done well for herself. I’m very inspired by her and I think you’d be too.

What are three things you want people to know about you?
Passionate, hardworker and dog lover.

If you could buy anything in the world right now, what would it be?
A work on paper by Nydia Blas and a small Dike Blair painting

If you were a painting, what would it look like?
According to Google Art & Culture, it looks like a French man...

Where do you go for silence?
I meditate twice a day.

I’ve got one day to spend in New York, what should I get up to?
It really depends what shows are up and what the weather is like. If it's summer I say take the ferry to Red Hook and go to Pioneer Works, have a lobster roll at the Red Hook Lobster Pound, and have desert at the key lime pie place.

If it's winter I say go to brunch at Cafe Mogador, then The Met (check out Michelangelo and Hockney show if you're here now), walk around in the park and have a strudel at Cafe Sabarsky. And because every good day ends with a little dancing, go to The Blond (if it's Saturday) and listen to Charlie Klarsfeld DJ.

Alexa de la Cruz

A mother of a beautiful baby boy, queen of earthy colors and steering through life with grace and calm. I feel like I can say this about Alexa de la Cruz even though I’ve never met her. Scrolling through her Instagram is like my version of watching oddly satisfying videos on YouTube and I was very happy when she agreed on answering my little q&a. Turns out she's just as graceful and calm in her answers as she is in her visuals. Can't wait till I get to move to Mexico, have a baby and live in a house with white stone walls. Follow her for a bit more zen in your feed.

What are three things you want people to know about you?
I was born and currently live in Mexico City. I’m a mother to a beautiful baby boy. Rituals and slow mornings are part of my lifestyle.

If you could buy anything in the world right now, what would it be?
A farm next to the beach so I could harvest my own food.

Where do you look for inspiration online?
My child and the act of making myself a cup of tea inspires me, the human condition and life itself. When you're easily inspired by small details life becomes more beautiful and nostalgic.

What is happiness to you?
Rain, while cooking dinner at home with my family. That means fresh sourdough, roasted vegetables, homemade pasta and a cup of our favorite wine. Alec´s singing in the background.

When are you the most creative?
When surrounded by nature, ebb and flow.

Michaela Del Viscovo

Michaela’s aesthetics are so appealing to me. I love how it somehow looks messy and put together at the same time. Also, feeling extreme shoe envy every time I scroll through her feed.

What are three short facts about you that you want people to know?
I am a Taurus, which I've come to learn evokes the least amount of emotion in people when I tell them (so for all of you Taurus-lovers out there, i <3 u). I am an INFJ (a Myers-Brigg personality type that makes up only 1% of the population!!). Impractical Jokers is my guilty-pleasure (if you're not familiar with the show, it's on True TV so that basically explains it.)

If you could buy anything in the world right now, what would it be?
A little cottage high up in the mountains on the west-coast so I can run away to warmth during brutal New York winters.

What’s your favorite place in New York City?
This is kind of a corny answer but my bedroom in Brooklyn. I recently moved there in August and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I live in an old-school Italian neighborhood surrounded by such warm people. It's such a breath of fresh air to walk out my door to a peaceful atmosphere and barely anyone crowding the streets.

What do you prioritize in life?
My family and my work. Ever since I was a child I've been an extreme type-a personality when it comes to school work and ambition in terms of career goals. I always feel the need to get ahead which is good in moderation but sometimes it can consume me. I come from a very small close-knit family consisting primarily of my parents and sister- and for that reason they've always been very dear to me.

Who is your internet persona?
My internet persona is an enigmatic chic grandma. And quite honestly that description is pretty reflective of who I am in real life as well.

What’s your favorite drink and why?
This question is so hard! My drink preference definitely differs based on my mood, but either a dry red wine with dinner or just a vodka soda if I'm at a bar. But I like to be experimental with my drinks I always switch it up :)

Karin Haas

So I stumbled across Karin Haas’ Instagram a couple months ago and fell completely in love. A very talented artist, Karin resides in New York, but her world is nothing like the dirty big busy (wonderful) city. Her aesthetics are bright and clean and playful as she shows you around, both in her own surroundings and with nicely curated mood images. She seems like the kind of person who got it together, people I tend to look towards for inspiration when my own life is a bit upside down. Now I just need to get my hands on one of her paintings. It would go perfectly with my pink couch.

What are three short facts about you that you want people to know?
I live and work in Manhattan. I am a Gemini and newly married to one. I am also working on new sculptures that I can’t wait to share.

If you could buy anything in the whole world right now, what would it be?
Beautiful shoes have always been my weakness. Recently I have had my eye on the Adela velvet mules by The Row.

Where do you go to find inspiration?
I find inspiration from my surroundings and those that are closest to me.

What's your favorite color combination?
At the moment my favorite color combo is white and beige sienna.

What's the definition of complete happiness to you?
Having a successful day in the studio followed by dinner with friends – laughing and not caring about anything else.

What do you eat for breakfast?
Most mornings I have a cup of coffee with milk and toast with avocado, tomato, lemon and black pepper.

Ulrikke Bie

Ulrikke Bie’s Instagram is like an artsy, sand toned dream. I’m in love with how she captures her surroundings and desperately wish my life was as beautifully curated. Enjoy!

What are three short facts about you that you want people to know?
I'm an INFJ (Myers Briggs). I'm currently learning Italian. I've watched the entire White Collar four times.

If you could buy anything in the world right now, what would it be?
A small castle on the countryside near Florenxe and then I'd stuff my big family in there with me. We'd probably kill each other but I love them all. Oh, and a membership to the Uffizi Gallery.

What’s your favorite song?
Ah man, that's tough. But Tangled up in Blue by Bob Dylan reminds me that time passes and people change. La vie en rose with Edith Piaf is just too beautiful for words.

What are three things you always do before going to bed?
I'm a big fan of rituals, haha! I do my skincare routine, then I read a few pages and/or listen to a song I want to accompany me in my dreams, and write a page in my notebook.

When are you really really happy?
Mornings. I boil an egg and dip my toast in the yolk, and have coffee and orange juice. Pure bliss.

If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
Honestly, I'd go to Italy every other day if I could. It would probably be easier to move there. Working on it.

Kellyrose Zimmerman

As an advocate of tiny, impractical bags I fell instantly for Kellyrose’s laid-back Southern European-esque style including small purses, loose shirts and hair scarves. It seems she’s constantly on the move; summering in Italy, petting horses in Topanga and playing it cool in Zürich. All while looking like a fancy, yet laid back Italian woman with beachy hair and perfect amount of jewellery. I’m mesmerised by her chill look and her California ways. And also insanely jealous of her always hanging out with animals?

What are three short facts about you that you want people to know?
I started taking flying lessons when I was fifteen. I once found a four leaf clover and wished for baby sister (big mistake) and got one about nine months later. My sister is my best friend.

If you could buy anything in the world right now, what would it be?
I’d buy a beautiful apartment in Paris on Rue du Bac. I lived on that street for six months and I’m not sure it gets much better than that.

What’s your favorite place to travel to?
French Polynesia. I’ve been going almost every year with my family since I was a kid. We travel around to different islands and always meet incredible people along the way. We’ve created a community of local friends on several islands and we go back to visit them as often as we can.

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would you eat?
This one is tough. I love cooking and I love food but I have to go with some fresh bread from Gjusta with an unhealthy dose of butter with a pinch of sea salt.

What’s your favorite flower?
Despite having rose in my name, my favorite flower is a gardenia almost purely for the smell. It is so seductive.

You’ve just had the best day ever. What did you do?
Wake up just after sunrise alongside my boyfriend in the house I was born and raised in in Topanga Canyon. Its on a ranch so I’d start my day with some farm fresh eggs, grilled tomatoes, avocado and a cappuccino . This would be followed by a morning walk with my family and dogs to say hi to the horses and our two miniature donkeys Ben and Jerry. I like to take it easy in the morning — you would find me on the sun drenched balcony catching up on the news or preferably reading a good book.  I’d make my way down to the beach for a quick dip by around noon and at some point go to the Underground Museum, one of my all time favorite museums and spaces to hang out at in LA. I don’t always enjoy planning out every detail of my day so I’d like to do something a bit more spontaneous after that. My evening would be spent with a group of people I love most all sharing a big family style meal, too much delicious wine, and listening to good music.

Maria Huseby

As mommy of two bunnies (!!!), owner of the perfect minimalistic wardrobe and the personification of who I aspire to be (living close to water, growing long healthy hair and owner of a linen robe), Maria Huseby is someone to be inspired by. I just want to dive into her Instagram feed and live there. And I guess you will too.

What are three short facts about you that you want people to know?
1. I am a very curious person and I easily get super excited about things. This combination does that I always have a lot of different projects going on. One year I took a beekeeper course, a ceramic course, a florist course, yoga lessons and dancing lessons within a very short timeline.
2. I am above average fond of flowers and plants, and preferably it should be as many of them as possible. For a long time I wanted to become a flower farmer. Lately I have started to plant seeds from fruits and vegetables that hopefully will gradually grow into small mango-, pomegranate- and lemon trees. You should have seen our windowsills, haha, it’s a jungle in here.
3. I have broken my arm three times. The last time was this summer, my boyfriend and I were trying to act like locals in Copenhagen and rented bikes on our way to a Devendra Banhart concert. Turns out I'm not that good at city cycling.

If you could buy anything in the whole world right now, what would it be?
Paloma Wool’s Lagos pants in ochre with the matching Cotta-jacket, or the Yvonne Rose-coat from Saks Potts. Or maybe a couple of beehives.

What is stillness to you?
Stillness to me is to be surrounded by the mountains and fjords in the small village where I grew up, Luster (Sognefjorden). It's unbelievable how quiet and peaceful it can be when you are that close to nature. Also, it is truly the most beautiful place on earth.

Tell us about three core pieces in your closet.
The most irreplaceable piece in my closet is without a doubt my all time favorite leather boots from the Barcelona-based brand called About Arianne. They have the same cold green color as eucalyptus and are really special to me. However, the piece I probably use the most is a beige linen robe. My boyfriend and I always compete for it in the morning and I am sure I could have lived a whole life in it. Other than that I use hairbands a lot and everything that is pink.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Somewhere that is completely different from the surroundings I am used to in Norway. The Mid East really fascinates me, the old eastern bloc countries in Europe as well.

What are the names of your bunnies?
The black one is named Georg. When we adopted him his name was George, as in George Clooney, but that got way too fancy for us so we twisted the name just a little. The white one is called Saga, after the one and only Saga Norén. They are true heartbreakers.

Danielle Sabol

I started to follow Danielle Sabol, who's a talented photographer, because I felt as if I entered some old museum when I tapped myself into her Instagram account. It's just beautiful statues and gold and painted ceilings everywhere. And I feel like her style matches this perfectly? Beautiful coats and that reddish long hair. In my mind she could be living in some old French castle, eating croissants for breakfast and drinking wine on the big balcony in front of the massive garden.

What are three short facts about you which you want people to know?
I have six younger sisters. I've recently taken up studying + hunting mushrooms. I'm looking forward to aging and grey hair.

If you could buy anything in the world right now, what would it be?
Right now would throw my money at a Jeep Grand Waggoneer. I became a little obsessed with them when I was in Nantucket for a job this summer.

Who are some of your biggest inspirations when it comes to photography?
Growing up with sisters has definitely shaped where I find inspiration and how I absorb it, so I would say they're my biggest influences. But I'm constantly inspired by Cass Bird and Alexandra Nataf.

Which word or phrase do you overuse?
Perfect. I probably say it a billion times on set.

Where would you live if you couldn't live where you currently live?
My maternal family is from Germany and I travelled there for the first time this past May. I felt like my heart was at home. If opportunity allows I'm moving to straight to Berlin.

What is something you'd never wear?
The MAGA hat.

For royal style, look this way.

Concha earrings from Beatrice Venezuela
The last lolita sunglasses from Le Specs
Black balloon sleeve belted blazer from The Frankie Shop
Carinale top from Staud Clothing

I do not get paid from linking this to these products, I just really wish I could buy it all.

Geneva White

I started following Geneva not too long ago, after seeing a photo of her on one of my favorite vintage accounts @courtyard_la I adore the way she dresses. It’s so simple, yet with so much class. It just looks clean, you know? I think I in some way aspire to dress like that, when everything just looks thought trough, but never boring. Ugh, Geneva you’ve got it figured. OUT.

What are three short facts about you that you want people to know?
I make a pretty mean pain au chocolat from scratch. In high school, I was on an all-boys soccer team because there was no girls team to play on. My childhood pet (a pug) was named after Ella Fitzgerald.

What’s your favorite food?
Any kind of freshly baked, warm bread with some variety of cheese; or dark chocolate (in all forms).

When do you feel complete happiness?
Either having really good espresso alone at a favorite cafe or swimming in the ocean close to the equator.

What do you do right before going to bed?
An overzealous skincare routine and a sort of catch-up with messages I've been ignoring throughout the day.

If you could buy anything right now, what would it be?
The responsible side of me would say a well-designed home, but realistically I would invest in one of those new-concept "unlimited flying passes." I don't like being in one place for too long.

What do you hate?
Condescension or bigotry of any kind and the sound of someone chewing with their mouth open.

How much do you think about what you post on Instagram?
Probably not enough based on various warnings from school counselors and my parents on "the consequences/permanence of sharing on the internet."

Get in the mood of Geneva. Buy this.

Full bra from Pansy.
Lucas Dress from Reforamtion.
Off shoulder blouse from Lisa Says Gah.
