Collected some summer moments and turned them into a little film. Hope you like <3
I'm back home after a week in Spain. Spent five days with my best friends and the three last ones I spent by myself. Wandering the streets, eating delicious food and laying on the beach. There was a lot of time to think, which made me think I don't think enough? I wallowed a bit, enjoyed myself a bit and just was. Got a little bored. If I became president of the world I'd give everyone three days off and let us escape to coastal towns around the Mediterranean once a year to hide out by ourselves.
Spent the weekend in London hanging out with my best friend Linn. In case you missed it, we have a podcast together called One Way Ticket. In it we talk about moving and living abroad. Partly why I went was so that we could work on it and the community we’re building up around it.
Listen to it here: acast.com/onewayticket
But aside from work we had amazing food, one too many negronis and caught up on everything that falls between the cracks over FaceTime.
So I thought I’d catch up with you guys a little bit, talking about my goals for and thoughts about this place and these videos.
I’ve always had a pretty complex relationship to my presence online and how I portray myself. Being pretty sceptical of many of the aspects to the blog/influencer world we live in, I'm often struggling with who and what I want to be. Like, why am I doing this? I think the whole influencer-era is a very natural road for advertising to go down, but because of it I feel like a lot of content nowadays feels superficial and bland. Not saying that people shouldn’t work with brands, nor that I never will, but I've realized that there is a gap in between what is out there and what I relate to and find inspiring. So I felt this new, exciting vibe coming to me which I’m completely riding on right now and I think this place can turn into something really cool as I, and you, keep blessing it with our presence.
There’s more in the video. Sorry for the rambling.
Also, I would be so so happy if you wanted to share some of your favorite blogs/youtube-channels/instagrams with me. I’m in the need for some fresh stuff.
So I went to Moscow for New Years and had the BEST time. What a huge, lovely, absolutely bonkers city! We stayed in a hostel smack down in the middle of the city, right next to Red Square with bars and restaurants and clubs within walking distance. It was such a new experience for me to go on a trip without having done thorough research about stores or bars or areas that are "cool" to hang in and instead just completely go with the touristy flow. But with Russia and Moscow being so different compared to anything I've ever seen before, it didn't really matter. Everything was an experience.
I'm also so happy to have gone with the people I went with. Couldn't have asked for better friends. And to get to ring in the New Year with them <3 Started off 2018 on the best possible note.
Three tips if you're ever to visit Moscow (which I think you should):
Good Mood Hostel. We rented out a whole room since we were 8 people. So cheap and so much fun if you're just going on a party trip like we did and don't want to spend a lot of money or time on your accommodation.
Matroyshka Restaurant. The restaurant we went to for our New Years dinner. Delicious.
Mendeleev Bar. A really cool cocktail bar which we actually went back to. Danced in the new year here and had the tastiest Old Fashioned.
I've always been a fan of filming and putting together little videos so I was thinking of elevating my digital world by capturing the real world around me. I'm still getting used to this and speaking to the camera isn't necessarily my strong suit, but I feel like I'll get more and more into it. Feel free to hit me up with feedback or thoughts <3
Anyway, this is my Christmas weekend.
